I was coming out of the Smithsonian Museum of American History when I saw this fantastic sunset. I almost did not take the photograph because of all the trees in the way. I then realized that the delicate branches adds unique detailing to this photo of the Washington Monument.

Traveling East During a Sunset - Somewhere Between Texas and Virginia

Photographs of airplane wings taken during flight are nothing original. I like this one more than the usual since the sunset coming from the back nicely illuminated sections of the wing -- it created a two toned effect with the warm and the cool colors. Taken during a flight, a couple of days ago, between Dallas, Texas and Richmond, Virginia.

As seen in a recent downtown Austin photowalk, a spectacular sunset. I knew I didn't have enough dynamic range to get the building details without resorting to HDR techniques. Twilight Colors, Howard Theater - Taylor, Texas

The Howard Movie theater in downtown Taylor, Texas. There are many empty stores in Taylor but the movies theater appears to be doing well. As I took a bunch of images to capture the best composition and catch the peak color, I noticed a steady stream of customers entering the building. The red neon, the blue to yellow sky gradient and the warm golden lights, they all came together as I captured the subtle mix of colors in a small Texas town.

Austin Fashion Week 2011, AZIZ Salon Rooftop - Austin, Texas

A model struts down the runway located on the rooftop of AZIZ Salon in Austin, Texas. This Austin Fashion Week 2011 show on Monday just happened to start during the peak sunset color. I decided to go wide and light the foreground with flash to capture the model, the Austin skyline and the great looking clouds. Kellie Lewis did the clothing design at this Red Haute Rooftop Rendezvous show.
