Birthday Cupcake, mostlyfotos 2nd Anniversary - Austin, Texas
Today is the second anniversary of this blog, mostlyfotos. I usually post one photo per day, though once in a while I may post a couple to catch up, if I've fallen behind. Bluebonnets - Austin, Texas
After the worst drought and the hottest temperatures on record last summer, Central Texas has finally begun to receive some rain. Consequently, this year's wild flower display has been spectacular. My schedule did not allow for a hill country wild flower photo excursion. Continental Logo #2 - Austin, Texas
Taken on South Congress Avenue just south of downtown Austin, Texas. The 3rd in a series of images from an old Lincoln I found park on the street. The photograph was shot over a year and half ago with my Canon 50mm f1.4 lens which has a really shallow depth of field. This lens isn't particularly sharp at f1.4 but it does have a nice dreamy quality, which I liked for this old Lincoln Continental. Continental Interior - Austin, Texas
Taken on South Congress Avenue just south of downtown Austin, Texas. Continuing with the Lincoln Continental theme from yesterday, here is a look inside this classic car. You can clearly tell that this car is from another era. No longer do you see those bits of shinny chrome and that wide open button-less steering wheel in a modern vehicle. I shot this photograph over a year and half ago with my then new Canon 50mm f1.4 lens. Taken on South Congress Avenue just south of downtown Austin, Texas. I shot this photograph over a year and half ago. Back then, I just purchased my Canon 50mm f1.4 lens and was having fun shooting it wide open (maximum aperture) at f1.4. Today marks my first anniversary of this blog. I have managed to post one image per day for the entire year. However, this is not a 365 project where I just post one per day for a year. As seen in a Target store in North Austin. I don't always have my camera with me but I had my smaller Olympus setup with me when I noticed these repeating bullseye and shopping cart patterns as I was leaving the store. My two camera setup, Olympus E-PL1 with 45mm and 20mm - Austin, Texas
My two camera Olympus digital Pen setup that I've been using for the last several weeks. Both are identical Olympus E-PL1 camera bodies. One has the Olympus 45mm f1.8 lens attached while the other one has the Lumix 20mm f1.7. I created the image specifically for a blog post I did that describes why I choose this particular two camera system. New Year's Baby, 37th Street - Austin, Texas
Taken at the 37th street holiday decorations in midtown Austin, Texas. When I first saw this, I thought it would be perfect for a New Year's Day posting. 37th street is known for some eclectic neighborhood decorations and while the number of houses participating have decreased over the years, there were certainly displays that lived up to the location's reputation.
