Stone Torii, Yasaka Shrine - Kyoto, Japan
The stone structure is called a Torii and it is usually a visual sign that you have entered a Shinto Shrine in Japan. Torii are typically made of wood or stone and symbolically they mark the transition from the profane to the sacred. This one was seen at Yasaka Shrine in Kyoto, Japan.
