I shot this portrait of Larry during a downtown Austin walk I took with Kirk Tuck and Frank. Larry is part of the Occupy Austin movement which is the local branch of the larger Occupy movement that is happening in various cities across the country. Larry was busy waving his flag to the passing cars on the Congress Avenue bridge. We asked if we could take a portrait and I suggested that he put the flag on his shoulder. There was a strong breeze that day and I knew the flag would stand proudly behind him. The warm golden light during sunset made for some especially nice portrait lighting.
